I am eldest of two younger brothers; the only girl but our parents always tried to raise us in the same, egalitarian way. My mum was a stay-at-home mother and my father was an entrepreneur. I have to say that I looked up to him quite a lot : he had to pay for his studies by himself, which was not an easy path.
I have the feeling that it never mattered to him, that I had been a girl or a boy, as long as I worked hard. He always expected me to do my best, just like anyone should. He was also always encouraging of my achievements and sent me to a school that was very egalitarian. I played music and also played many sports. In fact, I was always very sporty; but my brothers on the other hand, not so much!
