The one who enjoyed simple pleasures

20:30 . ‘’ I get excited over the little things, to me they matter more than the big ones. Yesterday, I got really excited when I saw they had a sale on my favorite ice cream brand at the store. I guess it is about appreciating the small things in your life, rather than wanting bigger things, or expecting something more. Otherwise, you end up always expecting something more. ‘’

Antonia came from Sweden to study European affairs. She now works for a think tank which organises debates between citizens and political actors on various European topics.

‘’ I’ve always been a very curious person, I love the notion of knowledge. The thing is that knowledge on a certain topic is something hard to attain and once you attain it – you tend to forget what was the point you were missing before – the loophole.
My job is finding these loopholes – trying to see where do European citizens need to be more engaged, more informed, debate better. A lot of citizens across Europe do not always have thorough knowledge of the Europe they are criticizing.
Of course, I understand that it is difficult to understand the European Union. But the more you know the system, the more humble you get because you understand its complexity.‘

‘’When I listen to Swedish news sometimes or read some of the criticisms there about the EU, I automatically think – this is not the Sweden that I know ? At least this is not the Sweden I remember.
I love Sweden. But I also love Europe. I reckon my personal mission is trying to convey this image to all of the Swedes. ‘’
